Meet the Founders

In late July/early August 2023. Randy and Jennifer Alvarez had the privilege of going on a twelve day missions trip to Uganda Africa. While there we visited Entebbe, Kampala, Jinja, Kamuli and Busoga areas. We saw how impoverished these regions were and we noticed that the only ones thriving were the land owners. After witnessing this and seeing how the churches were struggling to provide even a single meal for all of their starving widows, orphans and congregation, Jennifer was given an epiphany from the Holy Spirit with the entire vision of this non-profit endeavor all at once. I was on board with the vision and ministry work. We shared this vision with many of the Pastors and leaders there and they were excited. Land is what is needed for the church to grow and thrive.
Our Approach
We focus on equipping individuals and communities to achieve self-sufficiency through farming. Our philosophy is to offer a hand up rather than a hand out by empowering people with land ownership, education and resources, we aim to foster enduring change that benefits future generations.
Physical Sustenance
Our farming initiatives are rooted in a commitment to nourish and uplift our communities. We strive to bring fresh, affordable produce to families in need while also empowering people to cultivate their own food sources. By fostering self-sufficiency, resilience, and a connection to the earth, we're helping to create a more sustainable healthy future for all. Join us in sowing seeds of change and nurturing a world where everyone has access to wholesome food. Together, we can make a meaningful difference.
Community Building
Our farming programs are about more than just growing food - they're about growing connections. We aim to bring people together across communities and generations, building a sense of unity that goes beyond borders. Through collaborative farming, we create spaces where people can share experiences, support one another, and forge lasting relationships that uplift everyone involved. Together, we can cultivate not just crops, but a thriving, interconnected family that enriches lives both locally and around the world. Join us in this journey to strengthen communities through the power of farming and friendship.
Spiritual Health
At Acres of Love, we are devoted to nurturing our community in both body and spirit. Our mission goes beyond providing for physical needs; we are here to support a life grounded in faith and spiritual growth. Rooted in the teachings of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we work hand in hand with local churches and Christian organizations, forming a strong foundation for our efforts. Together, we embrace a holistic approach to well-being that honors every part of our being - body, mind, spirit, and soul. Guided by faith, we aim to uplift, empower, and share Christ's love with all those we serve.
Education
At Acres of Love International, we proudly partner with dedicated organizations both at home and abroad who work closely with local communities. Together, we support indigenous peoples in gaining essential farming skills - teaching them how to cultivate their land sustainably and successfully. By sharing knowledge about what, when, and where to plant, as well as how to care for and harvest crops, we help them achieve the highest yields possible. We believe that this hands-on, collaborative approach not only maximizes the land's potential but also empowers these communities with skills that will nurture growth in communities. Knowledge is the key to unlocking sustainability and self-sufficiency.
